Ford Ends 2013 with Second Place Finish on Brand Index

Ford closed off 2013 with a second-place finish in the U.S. Top Buzz rankings according to YouGov.

The American automaker sat at the top during the mid-year U.S. buzz rankings, but ended up with a second place finish behind online giant Amazon. Despite that, Ford was still the top automaker on the list and was America’s best-selling vehicle brand in 2013.

“December was a strong close to an even better year for Ford Motor Company,” said John Felice, Ford vice president of U.S. marketing, sales and service. “We saw strong growth across the entire Ford lineup and made significant gains in the import-dominated coastal markets.”

Ford scored a 29.6 on the “buzz score,” which was over 10 points ahead of Toyota (19.5), the second-place automaker. Honda followed Toyota with 19.4 while Chevrolet (17.1) and Volkswagen (15.4) rounded off the top five automakers.
