Polo-Based Crossover Expected at Geneva Motor Show

Polo-Based Crossover Expected at Geneva Motor Show

When dozens of manufacturers gather this March at the Palexpo for the Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen is expected to display a Polo-based crossover.

The unnamed crossover concept will feature styling heavily influenced by the next Tiguan. It would fill a gap between the forthcoming Up!-based Taigun crossover and teh Tiguan and will be powered by a selection of engines including a 1.0-liter three-cylinder with 110 hp and 129 lb-ft of torque. There will also be diesel engines and possibly an R variant with a more potent 2.0-liter four-cylinder making 220 hp.

Volkswagen doesn’t market the Polo (pictured) in the U.S. and the crossover variant is equally unlikely to make the trans-Atlantic voyage.

Of course,  Volkswagen hasn’t confirmed plans for bring the rugged little concept car. But the Geneva Motor Show is only a few weeks away, so there isn’t long to wait.
