The subcompact Jeep SUV rumored to be called the “Jeepster,” will debut later this year, likely in March.

Positioned below the Jeep Compass and Patriot, the s small crossover will be unveiled by the end if the first quarter of 2014. The subcompact SUV will be Italian built with heavy influences from Fiat while retaining Jeep’s engineering to offer a rugged vehicle capable of going off road.

Sales of the baby Jeep will begin later this year and the American automaker expects to attract a wide range of potential buyers. It will have four-wheel-drive capability, despite being built on a Fiat-based front-wheel-drive platform. The new model will be built at Fiat’s plant in Italy.

    How is this retaining the off road capabilities of Jeeps?? Looks like a Fiat with a Jeep emblem…maybe.
