The standard Subaru XV Crosstrek is good for 25 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway, giving it a combined rating of 28 MPG. Priced from $23,645, the XV Crosstrek comes with all-wheel drive standard and is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 148 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque.

    Good point. It’s technically number 1 but we chose to leave it off the list as it’s ultra low volume.

    It’s too bad that image has rendered the public leery of the much more practical minivan, in favor of the SUV. Funny how, in eschewing the body-on-frame design of earlier generations, and adopting the construction of the minivan, the SUV has become even more the thing. I drive a Toyota Sienna, which seats 8, is extremely comfortable, only costs $30 to fill up, only costs $25/month to insure (thanks to Insurance Panda), and outperforms most SUVs on safety tests…. I love my Sienna and wish people with families would start considering minivans more than SUVs.
