A more extreme Volkswagen Golf R model is anticipaited to make its debut at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show.
Expected to be badged as the Volkswagen Golf R Evo, the vehicle heading to Beijing will be on display as a concept model initially, with a production model possible afterward. The hot hatch will be a stripped down variant of the Golf R, with the rear seats replaced with a roll cage while the front seats will be thinner to save weight. The roof and sections of the body will be replaced with carbon fiber to further lighten the concept.

Recently, a rumor surfaced that the Volkswagen Group is preparing an upgraded version of its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that could sport up to 375 hp. Perhaps the Golf R Evo will be powered by that, giving it an even more significant performance boost.
