The 2015 Volkswagen Golf R Evo is expected to make its debut at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, and speculation of what will be lurking under the hood is running wild.
Originally it was rumored that the new four-cylinder turbo powerplant that the German automaker is working on could find a home in the Golf R Evo hatch. That powerplant, which is believed to be tweaked to provide 375 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque almost sounded like a sure bet for the hotter hatch.
But now an image has surfaced on the Internet that could point to the Golf R Evo having a turbocharged V6 under the hood. The above image was leaked on Facebook and alludes to the idea that the German automaker will use a V6 TSI engine in the Golf R Evo.
Either way, the 2014 Beijing Motor Show kicks off on April 20, so it’s just a matter of time before we find out the truth.
