2008 Honda Accord Probed for Possible Airbag Issue

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has launched an investigation into a possible airbag defect with the 2008 Honda Accord.

NHTSA has received 28 complaints that the side airbags on some 2008 Honda Accord vehicles are deploying inadvertently with two reported injuries. The preliminary evaluation will cover an estimated 363,000 units. The Japanese automaker released a statement saying that it will “cooperate with the NHTSA through the investigation process and will continue our own internal review.”

Last year, Honda launched 15 recalls total, ranking third behind Toyota and Chrysler.
