The second day of auto shows aren’t usually filled with incredibly exciting news and Hyundai continued this tradition with its introduction of the limited edition 2014 Hyundai Veloster RE:FLEX.

The RE:FLEX edition Veloster gives buyers of the quirky subcompact the option to get a bit more style and exclusive features – including its Ice Pearl paint. Only 3,000 examples will be made, each standing out on the road thanks the black or red leather interior, projector headlights with LED accents, LED taillights, illuminated door sills, chrome 18-inch alloy wheels, chrome hood accents and chrome door handles.

“Veloster customers desire limited-edition models with even sportier styling, unique features and exclusive colors that allow them to stand out from the crowd and that is exactly what RE:FLEX Edition delivers,” said Hyundai director of product planning Scott Margason.

The RE:FLEX also features the Style upgrade package from the normal Veloster, which includes fog lights, piano black interior accents, a 450-watt Dimension premium audio system, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. Under the hood there’s been no changes, the RE:FLEX is powered by the same 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 138-hp and uses a six-speed manual or six speed dual-clutch transmission to deliver up to 31 mpg combined.

This RE:FLEX Edition Veloster is the second limited run version of the Veloster, following last years RE:MIX Edition.

So, they downgraded the re:mix? I’m guessing demand will not be large even with the limited run.

Ice Pearl Pain, interesting. I guess the pain is coming from paying alot more for just minor cosmetic touches
