2014 Ram ProMaster Recalled for Accelerator Flaw

Chrysler has announced a recall that affects 9,655 Ram ProMaster vans from the 2014 model year.

According to the recall notice, a part that could lead to the accelerator pedal getting stuck in the wide open position needs to be replaced on the affected vans. About half of the units affected by the recall are on dealership lots and will not be sold until they are repaired.

No accidents or injuries related to the issue have been reported and it was first discovered at a company test track when a driver applied depressed the pedal at an angle and managed to get it stuck. Those that own the affected vehicles will be notified for a free fix. In total, 7,935 units are in the U.S., 1,437 are in Canada and 283 are in Mexico.
