The 2015 Porsche 911 GT3 RS is expected to make its debut this summer, and unlike other hardcore 911s, the car may be available with a manual transmission.
The lighter, more hardcore Porsche 911 GT3 model will feature an aero package that increases the downforce by around 50 percent over the standard GT3 according to Porsche driver, Walter Rohrl. Rohrl admitted that the GT3 RS has been around the Nurburgring in testing.
Auto Express reports that the GT3 RS will be solely equipped with a PDK automatic transmission, but Car & Driver is reporting that Porsche is strongly considering offering a manual gearbox in the car.
The RS will also sport a wider body and stance than the standard GT3 while tire testing is current underway in Italy. Expect lighter panels, thinner glass and an even more stripped out interior for the GT3 RS. Unfortunately, the hardcore model will only get a modest increase in performance from the GT3’s 475 hp.
