Audi-A6-Crash

Safety, apparently it’s important to a lot of people. Who knew? Aside from elegant design and a top-notch interior Audi A6 drivers have something else to crow about; the Bavarian four-door just received a five-star rating from the folks at U.S. NCAP, the highest score available.

This test regimen measures adult protection in frontal and side impacts as well as rollover crashes. The A6’s performance makes it one of the safest cars in its category.

Beyond NCAP the U.S. National Highway Transport Safety Administration (NHTSA) has also given this big, bad Audi a five-star rating. Go ahead, drive it off a cliff; chances are you’ll walk away.

Of course it’s better to be proactive than reactive; why rely on crumple zones and air bags if you can side-step a collision in the first place? A number of advanced driver-assistance systems that are designed to prevent crashes are offered in the A6. For instance “Audi pre sense plus” can apply the brakes if you don’t, preventing an accident or lessening the severity if an impact is unavoidable. You know what that is? It’s called science.
