Crossovers and sedans made up the most popularly researched vehicles on AutoGuide.com this week.
Jeep’s new Cherokee, the Honda CR-V and Nissan Rogue were all bit hits. The trio of compact crossovers each offer different attributes for separate groups of customers. Honda takes the most traditional approach of the three with a five-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile the Rogue uses a CVT to help save fuel and then there’s the Cherokee. Jeep’s new entrant to the compact market features a whopping nine gears.
Others to make the list this week include Mercedes’ new CLA250 and the Mazda6. The CLA-Class is Mercedes new front-wheel drive four-door coupe. A base CLA250 starts around $30,000 and powers the front wheels while the red-hot CLA45 AMG uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder engine to send 355 hp to all four.
Mazda’s new mid-size sedan was also a popular pick. The Japanese company offers a manual transmission in base and mid-level trims pated to a 2.5-liter four cylinder engine. The company also promises a diesel version for the U.S. market but has delayed delivering that model twice.
