After numerous leaks and teases, the first official photos of the 2015 Audi TT have made an appearance ahead of its debut in Geneva.
Giving us the best look at at Audi’s latest sports car, the third-generation TT is expected to arrive in showrooms by the end of the year and will be the German automaker’s first sports car built on the Volkswagen MQB platform. What’s revealing in the official photos is that the new TT carries styling elements that made previous generations of the model so popular, while featuring new technology and a bold front end that is characteristic of current new Audi models.

At its launch, the Audi TT and TTS will be offered with three different four-cylinder engines featuring turbocharging and direct injection. The standard 2.0-liter TFSI engine will be offered with 230 hp while the more powerful TTS will come with 310 hp. That powerplant will deliver 273 lb-ft of torque allowing it to accelerate to 62 mph in six seconds flat when combined with the six-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. A 2.0-liter TDI diesel powerplant will also be in the TT’s lineup with 184 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque.
As for weight, the 2.0 TFSI engine variant will tip the scales at 2,712 lbs, around 110 lbs lighter than its predecessor. The new TT measures in at 13.71 feet – the same as the previous generation model, but its wheelbase has grown to 8.22 feet, 1.46 inches longer. It is 6.01 feet wide and 4.44 feet tall, the same height as the second-gen TT.
“The Audi TT is the epitome of an authentic design icon and a top-performance driving machine,” explained Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Board of Management of AUDI AG for Technical Development. “With the new generation, we are making this technology even easier for the driver to experience – just as they would expect from a real sports car.”
