With a week of three-row crossovers behind us, it’s time to shake things up – here’s all the cars we’re driving this coming week.
Welcome back to AutoGuide Now, where we fill you in about what’s going on behind the scenes. Here’s your chance to know what stories are on the way, before we’ve even published them, letting you ask any questions and comment on the cars we’re testing out this week.
2015 Subaru WRX STI Road Test Editor Mike Schlee: “This week I am travelling to California with Subaru to drive the all-new 2015 WRX and 2015 WRX STI. Now more street focused, Subaru claims some of the BRZ’s road manners have trickled into these all-wheel drive rockets. I am especially looking forward to trying out the new 2.0-liter turbo in the WRX. Look for a full review on each vehicle by the end of the week.” Mike will be keeping us all updated via his Twitter profile, but that’s not all he’ll be testing out this week…
2014 Land Rover LR4: “Later this week I will be picking up the last of the old-school boxy Land Rovers, the LR4. Positioned as the family vehicle of the Land Rover lineup, the LR4 receives a 340 hp 3.0-liter supercharged V6 and eight-speed automatic for 2014. With revised styling, new standard equipment and the more efficient drivetrian, has Land Rover given this aging vehicle a new lease on life?”
2014 Mercedes-Benz E250 BlueTEC Editorial Director Colum Wood: “After a brief hiatus I’m back behind the wheel of a diesel car and, no surprises here, it’s German. The Mercedes E250 BlueTEC is my final of seven diesel cars I’ve been testing to get a solid idea of what sort of real world fuel economy they deliver. Will this one live up to its big 45 MPG claim?” Eager to find out what kind of numbers the E250 delivers, be sure to watch Colum’s daily Twitter updates.
2014 Mazda3 Sport Managing Editor Luke Vandezande: “The 2014 Mazda3 won our Car of the Year award and I’m excited to spend more time driving it. Sami and I will be comparing the Ford Focus and Mazda3 this week. To me, these are the two best-looking cars in their segment, but I suspect the Focus will seem disappointingly outdated beside Mazda’s newcomer. Tweet at me with any questions.”
2014 Ford Focus Hatchback Features Editor Sami Haj-Assaad: “A compact fit to compete with the Mazda3 in terms of driving dynamics, the Ford Focus hatchback should prove to be a worthy adversary for the 2014 AutoGuide Car of the Year. While the Focus may be more refined, it still has to provide excellent value for compact buyers.” It will be interesting to see which compact hatchback wins Sami over. Check his Twitter updates to see his thoughts on these two cars.
