Mercedes-Benz’ high-priced four-door coupe will be revealed with a series of mid-cycle changes on June 23.
Those changes will bring the CLS more in line with new Mercedes products by adding an updated front fascia featuring a more aggressive front bumper, new grille and headlights that will add the same Active Multibeam II technology found on the new S-Class.
Other changes include a display the pops out of the dashboard running the latest version of Mercedes’ COMAND infotainment software and a nine-speed automatic transmission that will enhance the car’s efficiency. Its engine options will carry over unchanged through the refresh, meaning the CLS 550 will retain its 4.6-liter biturbo V8 while the CLS 63 AMG models will keep their 5.5-liter biturbo V8.
Mercedes will also offer new colors and wheel selections to further refresh the car’s styling. The company still hasn’t made an official announcement about the debut first reported on a German Mercedes enthusiast blog, but a source familiar with the matter confirmed that the date is accurate.
Following the debut, European customers will see the refreshed CLS arrive in dealers in September while U.S. stores will receive them a little later for the 2015 model year.
