Pricing for new vehicles seem to have a way of slipping out early online, and looks like the Jeep Renegade is the latest victim.
According to Autoblog, the Renegade will carry a base price of $18,595, while the off-road equipped Trailhawk model will go for $25,895. That makes the Renegade slightly cheaper than a Nissan Juke, but about $4,000 more expensive than a Kia Soul.
Before reading into this too much though, know this. The pricing was the result of a simple google search that revealed the numbers on Jeep’s consumer website, and coincidentally, the starting price for the Renegade is identical to the base cost of a current Jeep Compass. It could be that the Renegade is picking up where the Compass left off, or it may also be a case of crossed wires.
Jeep officials still won’t comment on price, but did reveal the timeline for the Renegade’s launch. Jeep communications manager Todd Goyer told Autoblog that the Renegade will hit US dealers in the first quarter of 2015.
