5. 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Coupe

2014-Mercedes-Benz-SLS-AMG

Like the Audi R8, Mercedes’ SLS AMG GT Coupe is a road-going beast. This supercar is built around a lightweight aluminum space frame that weighs just 530 pounds. Delivering explosive acceleration the car is powered by a hand-built 6.3-liter V8 that pumps out 583 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough thrust to blast from zero to 60 mph in a claimed 3.6 seconds.

Base price for this lovely, low-slung automobile is right about $205,000, which is comparable to the median home price in the United States. Along with a litany of budget-busting options, there’s one that’s supremely frivolous and extremely pricey. For a mere $1,900 you can grace your SLS with carbon-fiber side-view mirror caps! In for a penny, in for a pound, right?

Of course if that’s not enough roughage in your motoring diet there’s always the “Extended Interior Carbon Fiber Package,” which is a mere $7,250. It dresses the car’s cabin up with the featherweight, woven material.

This should be top 10 most annoyingly built article design. What’s wrong with a list? Why are they all separate pages?

  • Errowen

Why separate pages? Simple — they get paid every time an advert loads.

Theres a bit more to it than a cup and the part of the light that lights the cigs. The wiring, the outlet and the trim piece. $60 is cheap. Not a good start.

Didn’t even mention the $40,000 paint option for the RR Ghost. Whoever wrote this is not a car person.

We agree its annoying and we’re going to be moving to a new layout soon that will solve this problem. It’ll diminish our pageviews but we’re confident the improved user experience will be worth it.

you don’t do much research, talking about absurd options that are $under $200 on cars that are $20,000+?
Ferrari, Lambo, Bugatti, Pagani, Rolls Royce have options that cost as much as these cars. How much does RR charge for the star simulating fiber optic ceiling? Cause everyone needs one of those… Any Ferrari can easily be dressed up with $70k in carbon options. But then again we can also talk about the absurdity of dealer mark ups over sticker for used cars not attributable to options.

Is 10k for carbon ceramic breaks not the industry standard price?

On the number 3, the Chevy Camaro 2SS, you aren’t being completely fair. Compare it to the 1SS and you’ll see that the 2SS has an added USB port, auxiliary gauges, heads-up display, beautiful 21″ rims instead of the 20″ ones you can find on a normal SS, among other things. It’s not that muc hwhen you compare it to the 1SS.

It’s to measure engagement for their analytics. It provides an easier way for them to see exactly which pages and how much of each article was read in general. Doesn’t stop it from being annoying, but at least there’s a reason.

  • nonobaddog

These multi-page articles are just too aggravating to even read. I never open them.
