BMW took a reciprocating saw to the roof of the M4 and the resulting car is on display here at the 2014 New York Auto Show.
The brand new M4 will be accompanied by this convertible variant in BMW showrooms, and the two cars share pretty much all the same mechanical bits.
Tire-melting power is delivered by a twin-turbo inline-six engine that makes 425 horsepower and helps the M4 convertible sprint to 60 mph in under four and a half seconds.
Helping keep the convertible exciting and fun is the use of lightweight materials like aluminum and carbon-fiber. Overall the car weighs 4,055 lbs.
