Compressed natural gas (CNG) makes a lot of sense for those that do a lot of miles in a year, especially for truckers.
General Motors has announced pricing for the bi-fuel CNG option on the both the 2500 and 3500 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra, which starts at $9,500. With this upgrade, the trucks can run on gasoline or CNG, though only rear-wheel drive models will be able to receive the upgrade.
The brand also offers a dedicated CNG system on the 2015 Chevy Express and GMC Savana Cargo Vans, which sells for $10,825 for a three-tank setup or $12,090 for a four tank.
All CNG vehicles from GM are backed by a five-year/100,000 mile powertrain limited warranty. The bi-fuel CNG trucks will be available starting in July 2014.
