Volkswagen has announced pricing on its 2015 Golf GTI models.
The hot hatch will start from $25,215 including destination and is just $195 more than the previous-generation GTI despite more standard equipment, 10 more hp and 51 extra lb-ft of torque from the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The base model will come in two-door form with a six-speed manual transmission. Other standard features on the 2015 GTI include driving mode selection, VW Car-Net connected services, touchscreen radio, leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, ambient and footwell lighting with LED reading lights and LED fog lights.
The GTI will also be offered in two other trim levels: SE and Autobahn. The SE model will start from $28,215 while the Autobahn will only be available in four-door trim and starts at $30,415. Available as an option on all Golf GTI models will be a dual-clutch automatic transmission for $1,100 additional.
Later in the year, the German automaker will offer a Performance Package for $1,495 which adds larger brakes, a torque-sensing electronically-controlled limited-slip differential and an additional 10-hp boost over the regular GTI. The Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) adaptive damping system will also be available on the SE and Autobahn models with the Performance Package.
