Strange Bugatti Veyron Mules Spied Nurburgring Testing

Is the world ready for a successor to the almighty Bugatti Veyron?

It appears the French automaker has begun testing mules for its next new model now that the Veyron production has run its course. Both mules were spotted on the Nurburgring, though one could be hinting at an even more extreme Veyron model – though it’s unlikely considering Bugatti has said a SuperVeyron is off the table. Then again, that was before Koenigsegg presented its One:1 at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. It wouldn’t be a complete surprise that Bugatti has gone back to create its own rebuttal to secure itself as one of the fastest production cars in the world.

Regardless, the white mule we see spotted in the spy photos has a unique aluminum setup in the rear, potentially being used to strengthen the chassis or part of an engine mounting solution. It’s unclear whether the successor to the Veyron will continue utilizing a 16-cylinder engine or if it’ll downsize and pair it up with an electrified system.

The other Veyron that was spotted appears to have slightly wider fenders and a wider track. In addition, it sports wheels that we’ve never seen before on a Bugatti model. So is Bugatti working on an answer to the Koenigsegg One:1? Or is it simply just getting ready for the future? For now, we’ll have to patiently wait to see what it has in store.

Which answer is needed? As the One:1 has never proven its performance. Actually is just a rumor that the car is that fast. Not more, not less. … and with that Aerodynamik Setup no normal Person can hold the car on the road when it just makes a light turn. It just works fast and straight on.
