The first day of a new month means that the sales number start to roll in, but that’s not the case at GM today.

General Motors is reporting a computer glitch has cause a delay in the reporting of its sales numbers. The original plan was to release the stats at 9:30am this morning, but now GM says that it expects to report before the end of the business day.

Today is also the day that GM CEO Mary Barra will testify on Capitol Hill about the ignition switch recall delays, which have been tied to a number of deaths. Since the ignition switch recall, GM has gone on to recall between 5 and 6 million vehicles, and have seen share prices fall by about 5 percent.
