GM Fined for Being Slow to Provide Recall Information

General Motors is now facing a fine of $7,000 per day starting from April 3.

Federal safety officials have announced that the American automaker hasn’t provided enough information about the massive ignition switch recall and will be fining the American automaker for being slow to respond.

NHTSA had requested answers to 107 questions from GM to determine whether or not the American automaker acted promptly and diligently in dealing with the safety defect. Those answers were due on April 3 and according to the safety agency, more than a third of those questions remaind unanswered at that deadline.
