Not even a few days after the debut of the Mercedes-Benz Concept Coupe SUV at the Beijing Motor Show, AutoGuide‘s spy photographers have caught a prototype of the production model testing.
The Mercedes-Benz Concept Coupe SUV showed off a competitor to the BMW X6, and it appears that the German automaker isn’t wasting any time in bringing it to market. These spy photos of a heavily camouflaged model show what will likely be called the Mercedes-Benz MLC. Though it’s difficult to see all the details on the prototype vehicle, the overall shape and style of the prototype mimics what Mercedes showed off in the concept.
Expect the MLC to share its powertrain with the current M-Class models, which means there will be a 3.5-liter V6, a 4.6-liter twin-turbo V8 and a 3.0-liter V6 diesel. You can also bet on an AMG model making an appearance sporting a 5.5-liter V8 powerplant.
The Mercedes-Benz MLC is expected to start production in very late 2014 or early next year.
