Wild Subaru WRX STI Teased Ahead of NY Auto Show

Subaru heard that enthusiasts think the WRX STI is too mild, so it’s heading to New York with something wilder.

The Japanese automaker has teased an image of a wild WRX STI with a contrasting light blue spoiler, carbon fiber trunk and a carbon fiber gurney flap on the massive rear wing. No other details on what exactly this model is, but it looks like Subaru is showing off what the WRX STI can look like with some tasteful, albeit radical, modifications. subaru-sti-teaser-large

The 2015 Subaru WRX STI is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 305 hp and 290 lb-ft of torque. It is only available with a six-speed manual transmission and gets 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.
