Both the sedan and hatchback versions of the 2015 Mazda3 have earned top safety marks from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The car received five stars in front and side crash tests but only four stars in the rollover crash test. When it comes to the IIHS crash tests, the 2015 model year Mazda3 hasn’t been rated yet, but the 2014 model was named a ‘Top Safety Pick Plus.’ The Mazda3 was fully redesigned in 2014.

Standard safety features on this car include electronic stability control, ABS, daytime running lights and six air bags. Upgrades can tack on lane-departure warning, forward obstruction warning and blind-spot monitoring.
