The 2015 Subaru WRX STI is already claiming records and watching from the cockpit is quite the thrill.
A video detailing Mark Higgins’ record-setting run at the Isle of Man TT has been shared by the Japanese automaker, along with interesting data on Higgins himself including his heart rate, skin temperature and respiratory rate while behind the wheel of the WRX STI.
The record-setting 19 minute and 26 second lap held an average speed of 116 mph through the rigorous 37.75-mile course and according to Subaru, the WRX STI was nearly stock except for a few necessary upgrades such as the FIA-spec roll cage, a racing set with harness, a fire suppression system and modified springs and dampers. Naturally, the speed limiter was removed and stickier tires were used for the run.
