Cadillac announced a list of upgrades today for the ATS including a power upgrade and new equipment.
Its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine makes the same 272 hp, but starting this year it will offer 295 lb-ft of torque to match what it makes in the larger CTS. Cadillac said it achieved the increased output by re-calibrating the engine programming.
Along with the upgraded power, you can look forward to updated – optional – safety features. Starting with the upcoming model year, the cars will be available with a lane change alert system and lane keeping assistance that will nudge the car back into its lane if the driver starts to drift. The lane change alert system works with the blind spot monitoring system to watch for quickly approaching vehicles in a lane that the driver is about to turn in to. If another vehicle is approaching quickly, the car will alert its driver if the upcoming car is within 82 feet.
Other changes for the 2015 model year include an updated front fascia with the new Cadillac crest along with the new coupe body style. The car also gets technology updates including text message alerts, wireless cell phone charging, passive entry and several other features.
