5. 2015 Mitsubishi Evo
This is where things get a little out of hand. The previous cars listed each have large rear spoilers but they’re still within reason. Regrettably that “sensible excess” stops right here.
Without question the Lancer Evolution is Mitsubishi’s best model; there’s no denying it. The triple-diamond’s limited product range is lackluster at best, frightening at worst. The Evo, which is really, REALLY old at this point stands heads and shoulders above products like the Outlander Sport or Mirage.
This car is powered by a heroic 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that cuts a check for 291 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. The GSR model, which comes with a five-speed manual transmission (a six-speed dual-clutch automatic is standard in the MR version), comes dressed with a ridiculously large wing. It sticks up about two stories above the trunk lid and is so off-putting it probably lowers property values wherever the driver goes.
