Volkswagen, Discovery Channel Team Up for Shark Week

Volkswagen will once again be the presenting sponsor for Discovery Channel’s Shark Week.

For the third year in a row, the German automaker will be the presenting sponsor for Shark Week, which kicks off on August 10 at 8:00 PM ET. For this year’s campaign, Volkswagen will feature the 2015 Golf TDI Clean Diesel and on-air elements include short-form videos featuring the cast from the popular series. VW will also help usher in Shark Week with two vignettes and four sneak peeks, which offer an exclusive look into the show’s programming prior to its kickoff.

The 2015 Volkswagen Golf TDI is capable of achieving up to 567 highway miles per tank with an automatic transmission and is powered by 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine with 150 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque.
