The engine features a two-stage electrically-operated turbo along with a newly engineered variable-valve timing system. The new four-cylinder engine even churns out 10 hp more than the recently updated 3.0-liter V6 diesel found in the Touareg. Official torque figures weren’t announced at the event but the company did suggest it’ll be in the range of 369 lb-ft.
