2016 Hyundai Elantra Leaked

2016 Hyundai Elantra Leaked

What appears to be the 2016 Hyundai Elantra has leaked online.

A photo that claims to show the new Elantra has been posted online by Korean website auto.hankyung. The car is supposed to launch next month in its home market of South Korea as a 2016 model year vehicle.

Styling on the Elantra brings it in line with what we have seen on the new Sonata. New headlights with vertical LEDs have been installed along with an entirely new front fascia.

In North America, Hyundai has already revealed the 2016 Elantra GT with a new look, but hasn’t shown the standard Elantra sedan yet. If the license plate on this car is believed, this will be the new 2016 Elantra sedan.

We reached out to Hyundai PR for clarification. As of publication time, there was no response.

Update: A Hyundai spokesman responded, saying, “Hyundai has no comment on the photo although it’s likely a Korean version prototype. Expect to see a new Elantra in the U.S. sometime early next year.”

That is not a good look. The previous corporate styling design that Hyundai used was much better looking than this angular and business-y approach

AutoGuide– I’m so disappointed with this article.
This is a photoshopped Hyundai i40, which is sold pretty much elsewhere other than the US.

Do you think it’s just a photo shop? It could be… but it’s such a terrible photo quality.

    It is a photoshop.
I remember seeing this image about a week ago off a Korean car fan site. Someone shopped the image by adding vertical LED slats. Now a bunch of sites claim this is the Elantra.
Also, the font used in the license tag isn’t the font Hyundai use. It’s pretty obvious it’s a bad photoshop.

I do not believe this is an actual picture of the ’16 Elantra. Probably photo-shop. Having said that: I have a ’14 Hyundai Elantra Coupe. LOVE THIS CAR. Looks great, drives great. I was really disappointed to see the new Sonata as I know the Elantra will take on the same boring look. For whatever reason Hyundai has decided to play it safe with styling. That sadly is the reason this will be my last Hyundai.

It’s real, they’ve shown it already.

To those thinking its a photoshop pic I’d say it’s poor quality upload. Plus why photo shop on when the gt and sedan have been shown at auto shows already.

  • Jamal

The new sedan hasn’t been shown. But the GT has. And the facelifted Veloster. It still could just be some guy lifting this Veloster grille and putting it on an Elantra. http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2015/02/2016-hyundai-veloster-turbo-gainst-seven-speed-dct.html

LOL. No one reads autoblog any more.

  • david

Here’s where this photo has come from, and one else look to Korean sites for new hyundais?

  • david

It has been shown just in Asia

  • Jamal

Well it obviously didn’t come from C&D first. It came from the Korean site above.

I work at a hyundai dealer in MA, and we just recieved our first 2016 Elantra. It’s still the old bodystyle, unless they messed up this particular Elantra.

  • david

Would there really be a car just sitting there with “Elantra 2016” on the grill??
