Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Special Edition Strips Weight, Adds Power

If the track only Vulcan is the ultimate Aston Martin performance car, than the Vantage GT3 special edition is the ultimate street car.

Powered by a 6.0-litre V12 engine that relies on a lot of upgraded magnesium parts, the Vantage GT3 will make close to 600 HP. Besides more power, the GT3 has been stripped of 220 lbs. compared to a regular V12 Vantage S and weighs in at just 3,450 lbs.

A lot of the weight savings is due to heavy use of carbon fiber inside and out on things like the front wings, hood, door casings and roof. Taking weight savings a step further are a lithium ion battery and polycarbonate rear window as well as rear quarter windows.

Inside, the weight savings continue as the center stack gets the full carbon fiber treatment as do the sports seats that come finished in Alcantara.

The GT3 special edition is lower and wider than any other Vantage. With a wider front and rear track, body roll in corners has been reduced while grip increases thanks to Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

Production for the Vantage GT3 Special Edition will limited to just 100 cars worldwide, ensuring it remains as exclusive as it is fast.
