Mercedes-Benz’s engineers are having a bit of fun in the snow.
Recently caught on camera by AutoGuide.com‘s spy photographers is the 2016 Mercedes C-Class coupe playing on a frozen lake in Northern Sweden. It appears that the German automaker will equip its new C-Class coupe with 4Matic all-wheel drive because all four wheels look like they are clawing for traction. Expect the powertrain lineup for the coupe to be similar to the sedan variant with turbocharged four- and six-cylinder options.
According to the photographers, the coupe looks noticeably sportier in person with a wider track and a lower ride height. Looking carefully at the photos, Mercedes has also moved the side mirrors on the prototype to the door, where as they’re found on the A-pillar on the sedan. If all goes as planned, the C-Class coupe and convertible models should head to production late this year and be available for the 2016 model year.
