If you’re saving up for the Ford Shelby GT350R, you might want to consider one in white.
The most track-focused Mustang yet is powered by a 5.2-liter V8 with a flat-plane crankshaft that the American automaker promises will make over 500 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. The latest round of spy photos captured by our photographers show the Shelby GT350R in an Oxford White finish along with black racing stripes and black wheels, providing a race-inspired contrast. Compared to the standard GT350, the GT350R sheds about 130 lbs thanks to carbon fiber wheels along with the removal of air conditioning and the rear seats.
Supporting it for heavy track use is an air-to-oil engine cooler that has been fitted along with the standard cooler for the six-speed manual transmission while the suspension has been enhanced with revised spring rates, roll bars and more. Those gorgeous 19-inch carbon fiber wheels have been paired with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires formulated specially for the Shelby GT350R.
The 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R is expected to arrive showrooms later this year.
