BMW M2 Specs Leaked: 365 HP, 343 LB-FT Torque

BMW M2 specs leaked through an enthusiast forum.

According to forum poster Dackelone, the BMW M2 will launch with 365 hp and 343 lb-ft of torque from its N55 engine, a turbocharged 3.0-liter straight six that BMW has used in various models since 2009. The engine will also feature an “over boost” function that increase torque by 25 lb-ft in the low- to mid-range RPM levels, similar to what was found in the 1M.

I like what I see here. Hell, a baseline 228i is seriously quick and this will be even better.

Oh please be at around $50-55k…

365HP is a disappointment. The M2 needed to be at 400HP; and now it’s not even delivering on the promise of 375+HP.
The new 340i alone will do 0-60 in 4.6-4.8 and have handling not far off the M2.

Damn, so you’ve driven the M2 and the 340i? Tell me what they were like! I’m really curious to know…

Please, don’t start saying that “the 340 will handle like the M2” since you don’t know what either will drive like. The M2 will be far lighter according to leaked data and statements from BMW and still have more power. The chassis is completely different and who knows what M has done with it.

As far as I’m concerned this is the perfect amount of power for a car that will be lighter than the m235i.

oh ok, yeah, you’re right. BMW promised 375+HP but then they realized they can make it even better by dialing back the power to 365HP to almost equal the 355HP A45 AMG wagon. uh huh. That’s it.
