The Mercedes SL is the next model to get a facelift from the German automaker.
The next-generation SL isn’t due until next decade, which means it’ll need a facelift to hold it over until 2021. The latest spy photos of the Mercedes SL reveal a front end that is inspired by the new AMG GT and follows in line with many of Benz models which are getting smoother, curved body lines.
The SL is actually getting fairly significant style changes with the entire front end getting slimmer headlights, a new front bumper, a more upstanding grille and a new hood.
The rear end will get minor changes with a new rear bumper, exhaust tips and tail lights. AutoGuide.com‘s spy photographers also managed to catch a glimpse of the revamped interior, which will have a larger touchscreen infotainment display and a new layout for the buttons. In addition, it appears that the Mercedes SL facelift will also outfit the cabin with a new steering wheel.
Expect updates to the powertrain lineup with Mercedes outfitting the SL with some of its new, more efficient engines.
