Chevy has released more photos and details on its updated 2016 Silverado.
Visually, the biggest change to the Silverado comes to the front end, which has been massaged for a new muscular look. Out back, the turn signals and brake lights now wrap around the corners of the truck.
Each trim will get unique styling with the basic WT trim featuring a horizontal grille with black inserts, while the higher up LT and LTZ models will get chrome grille elements and bumpers. Top trim Z71 and High Country trucks will come with a monochromatic appearance.
Mechanically, the biggest change for the Silverado is the availability of an eight-speed automatic transmission with the 5.3-liter V8. Previously, the eight-speed was only available with the larger 6.2-liter V8. It will come as the standard transmission on the Silverado LTZ, LTZ/Z71 and High Country trims. A six-speed automatic is still available with the 5.3-liter.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the latest in automotive smartphone integration, will also be available in the 2016 Silverado.
