2016 World Car of the Year Nominees Announced

The 2016 World Car of the Year nominees have been announced.

To be eligible for a World Car of the Year nomination, the vehicle must be new and must be available for sale on at least two continents between January 1, 2015 through May 31, 2016. Good thing they’ve got a short list of vehicles to choose from …

  • ZX-10R

    Bit long of a list…

2016 World Car of the Year Nominees:

    Chevrolet Malibu – Revival

2016 World Performance Car of the Year:

Chevrolet Camaro – Thrill for the masses

2016 World Green Car of the Year:

Chevrolet Volt – Driving a hybrid does not have to be a stigma like the Prius has created.

2016 World Design Car of the Year:

    Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe – To gorgeous

  • Blackzilla

Are these who you think will win? Lemme guess you own a Chevy

  • ZX-10R

No though I have owned a Pontiac and Chevy. I own a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4×4 Limited – Loaded.

I am considering a third car (2013 Focus Hatchback – Titanium trim) is the other car for family use.

The Malibu looks sharp. The Camaro is nice for what it is, and the Volt looks fabulous for a Hybrid. If I buy a Mercedes I would rather get the Tesla.

Audi has great products as well but for the price I am getting nickle and dimed to death.

Im praying to god (and mind you Im an “atheist liberal” which should ell you how bad its gotten) to get rid of my VW product.:'( </3 nothing but nickel and dimming, heartache and pain. Do not do it to yourself! Looking at an MKZ Hybrid myself.

  • smartacus

LOL to A4, X1, Outback as World Car Of The Year
Honda Type-R won’t be Performance Car Of The Year
Volvo XC90 and Lexus RX will not be Luxury Car Of The Year.

  • LOL at you.

Subaru Outback or Levorg will be the world car of the year
And the Chevrolet Volt will win World Green Car of the Year again just like in 2011.

  • myviewpoint2

Am I missing something? What is new about the Edge, Camero, Volt and Malibu? These have been around for years and not redesigns either?

  • Bert Forsberg

If you’re going to do undercover PR for Ford, you have to learn to spell Camaro.

    .

  • myviewpoint2

Engaged in your own biased caused you to miss the whole point of the comment. If I were a PR man would I list my own product?
