An Audi SQ5 TDI Plus has been unveiled, and the tweaked high-performance SUV will be packing a respectable 340 horsepower and an even more bonkers 516.3 lb-ft of torque.
The normal version of this car is already sporty, but the Plus model amps things up with upgrades to the biturbo 3.0L TDI V6, a sport differential and new 21-inch wheels. The result of increased injection pressure in the engine is a 27-hp increase and 50 lb-ft more torque over the regular SQ5.
The SQ5 Plus goes from zero to 62 mph in 5.1 seconds and the top speed is an electronically limited 155 mph. Audi claims all this performance can be had without sacrificing fuel economy: The SQ5 plus reportedly gets a combined 35.6 mpg.
As always, the SQ5 will have quattro permanent all-wheel drive, but the Plus model benefits from a sport differential on the rear axle, the first time this has been used in the Audi Q5 family. The SQ5 Plus also gets a host of cosmetic tweaks inside and out. A new exclusive “macaw blue” color will also be available, but will be limited to 100 units.
There’s no word yet on if this high-performance SUV will be available in the North American market yet, but it launches in Germany for €67,700 this October.
