With a base price tag of $229,100, the new Bentley Bentayga is the most expensive SUV that you can buy.
For now, Bentley’s first SUV ever stands alone in its price bracket, eclipsing the Mercedes-AMG G65 by just over $10,000, the Range Rover SV Autobiography by about $30,000 and the most expensive Porsche Cayenne by nearly $70,000.
A new Rolls-Royce SUV, currently codenamed Project Cullinan, will be likely be even more expensive than the Bentley when it launches, but for now, the Bentayga can claim the most expensive moniker.
Besides most expensive, Bentley also says that this is the world’s fastest, most powerful, most luxurious and most exclusive SUV available. Backing up those claims is a 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 engine packing 600 hp and 663 lb-ft of torque, allowing the SUV to jump from zero to 60 in just four seconds flat while having a top speed of 187 mph. Diesel and plug-in hybrid options are expected to join the lineup sometime in the future.
Check back for more information on the Bentley Bentayga when AutoGuide.com checks it out up close and personal at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show next week, where it’ll make its public debut.
