Toyota RAV4 Recalled for Faulty Windshield Wipers

The Toyota RAV4 and RAV4 EV models are being recalled for an issue with their windshield wipers.

Toyota has announced that approximately 421,000 model year 2009-2012 RAV4 and approximately 2,500 model year 2012-2014 RAV4 EV vehicles are being recalled because water dripping onto the windshield wiper link can over time cause corrosion and wear at the wiper link joint.

In some cases, the affected vehicles could see a separation of the wiper link from the wiper motor crank arm, causing the windshield wipers to become inoperative.

Of course if the windshield wipers cannot function, that could reduce driver visibility and increase the risk of a vehicle crash. Affected vehicle owners will be notified by first class mail and Toyota will replace the water channel, wiper link and wiper motor crank for free.
