Ford has released the first episode of its Ford Focus RS documentary, detailing how the hot hatch became a reality.
The documentary will span a total of eight episodes, with a new one going live on Ford Performance’s YouTube page every Wednesday. The first episode focuses on the kick off for the project, with Ken Block and Ford product development chief Raj Nair heading to a top secret test facility at Ford global’s headquarters in Dearborn, Mich. Both Block and Nair debate on what the Ford Focus RS should deliver while behind the wheel of an early prototype.
The American automaker has outlined the following episodes and the content they’ll cover, with next week’s focusing on design and development, with crunching crashes as they put the new design through the toughest tests. The 2016 Ford Focus RS will pack 345 horsepower and will go zero to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds. But until it arrives on U.S. soil, the best look we’re going to get of the hot hatch is through these weekly documentary videos – watch the first episode below.
