Several BMW models are making their North American debut at the 2015 L.A. Auto Show.
The German automaker has revealed its lineup for this year’s show in Los Angeles, headlined by the eDrive BMW 330e, 2016 BMW M4 GTS, new X1 and 7 Series models. The all-new BMW 330e boasts a plug-in hybrid drive system that combines an electric motor with a BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine. Combined, they provide a total system output of 248 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, allowing the sedan to go zero to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds. According to BMW, in everyday driving conditions, the 330e has a maximum range of 373 miles. Expect the model to arrive in U.S. showrooms spring 2016.
For those actually looking for the Ultimate Driving Machine rather than the Ultimate Plug-in Hybrid Machine, BMW will have the new M4 GTS on display sporting 493 hp and a Nurburgring lap time of 7 minutes and 28 seconds. The BMW M4 GTS will be limited to just 700 units worldwide with 300 exclusive to the U.S.
Other vehicles being shown will be the second-generation X1 crossover, the X5 xDrive40e, the i8 and the i3, as well as the new 7 Series. It does not appear that BMW has any surprises or a world premiere scheduled for next month, but it could be keeping that a secret.
