This Oddball DeltaWing GT Could Be a Real Thing

As promised, the DeltaWing Technology Group is moving forward with producing a street-legal road car.

The DeltaWing GT concept made its debut at Road Atlanta as a full-size concept of what a Panoz DeltaWing GT street-legal car could look like. The company also rolled out a DeltaWing GT race car concept chassis, previewing the fuel and energy efficient DeltaWing architecture in another form. According to the DeltaWing Technology Group, the road car design’s coefficient of drag in simulation has been optimized to the 0.26 Cd range and the platform can be fitted with all-electric or hybrid powertrains as well as today’s smaller and lighter high-efficiency gasoline, diesel and compressed natural gas engines.

The team plans on conducting real-world testing of a DeltaWing GT race car this year to further drive the company’s goal of producing a two- and four-passenger car for the road. It currently has not announced official plans to race the DeltaWing GT race car concept in competition this year but its preliminary targets include 350 to 400 horsepower in a race car weighing around 1,800 to 2,000 pounds depending on the powertrain.

They need to move that engine and transmission as far rearward as possible.
Those rear brakes will need to do a lot of the braking.

Good in the straits, but watch those corners … Not the most attractive car either, I wonder who would buy one?
