Cadillac is breaking up with the SRX model, replacing it with the stylish XT5 at the 2015 L.A. Auto Show.
Sitting on a unique chassis and structure that helps the XT5 weigh 278 pounds less than the outgoing SRX, the luxury crossover will actually be roomier on the inside despite its exterior dimensions being smaller. In the U.S., owners will get to enjoy a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 310 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The powertrain will also have start/stop and cylinder deactivation to help with fuel efficiency.

The American automaker is expecting the new XT5 to be a huge hit in China, where it will be offered with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. So much so in fact that Cadillac will be building it in China for local consumption, while the one offered in the U.S. will be made in America.
