Subaru has announced that 2015 is another record breaking sales year for the Japanese automaker in the Unites States.
Sales in 2015 have now shot past the previous record of 513,693 vehicles sold which was set just last year in 2014. This marks Subaru’s eighth consecutive year of sales growth and its seventh record setting year of sales in a row. With another full month of sales to go, the brand still has time to raise the record even higher.
Not surprisingly, crossovers make up the bulk of Subaru’s sales, with the Forest, Outback and Crosstrek combing for about 350,000 units annually. This momentum in crossovers is driving Subaru to release a new seven-seat large crossover that will replace the Tribeca in the brand’s lineup. It isn’t expected to be revealed for at least another year.
“We are delighted to be celebrating yet another record. Our continued growth is built on strong products and outstanding retailers providing a great customer experience. We thank all of our retailers for their continued commitment in making these record-breaking sales possible. Given consumer demand for our products, we expect a strong close of 2015,” said Thomas J. Doll, president and CEO of Subaru of America, Inc.
