What appears to be a prototype for the McLaren 570S GT has been spied testing.
Rumors of a 2+2 seat version of the entry-level 570S, which would wear the GT moniker, have been floating around and these new pictures show what appears to be that car.
The roofline is totally revised to allow for the two small rear seats and for more space in the rear luggage compartment. The McLaren 570S GT will aim to be more livable as a daily driver.
McLaren has confirmed that more body styles of the car are coming, though details have been sparse. What we do know is that this car will use the same carbon fiber monocoque as the standard 570S along with its mid-engine layout. Power will continue to come from a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 that makes 562 horsepower sent through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
After the GT model is introduced, McLaren is expected to release a 570S convertible sometime in 2017.
