The 2015 Nissan Rogue is being recalled because the shift selector can potentially be moved out of the “Park” position without the brake pedal being depressed.
A total of 33,880 units are affected by the recall and, according to the Japanese automaker, there is a problem with the shift selector knob. The recalled vehicles were manufactured between February 10, 2015 to May 13, 2015 and Nissan will notify owners so dealers can inspect and replace the shift selector knob if necessary, free of charge.

Since the recalled vehicles can accidentally shift out of Park without a person pushing on the brake pedal, those vehicles no longer conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 114, “Theft Protection and Rollaway Protection.”
