Volkswagen has teased what is presumably the Microbus concept bound to debut at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
Rumors of the all-electric Microbus concept debuting early next year have been ongoing for the past couple of months and now the German automaker has basically confirmed it’s coming. The teaser image shows a concept under a thin cover that shows a vehicle with larger dimensions, while the bright white lighting alludes to an all-electric concept. Volkswagen fans will recognize that the lower running lights are shaped exactly like the ones found on the e-Golf.
Even Volkswagen has confirmed that the new concept “marks the beginning of a new era of affordable long-distance electromobility.”
The company’s chairman of its passenger cars brand, Dr. Herbert Diess, will deliver a keynote on the eve of the show’s opening. Diess will not only debut the concept but focus on the latest developments in electromobility and the next generation of connectivity.
The German automaker will also display the latest developments in in-car infotainment that includes innovations such as the Golf R Touch concept car.
